Kuwait City: An expatriate woman found dead in Kuwait was raped before she was killed, an investigation has revealed. A 17-year-old boy who was caught in the incident confessed to the crime. After the investigation, the case has been handed over to the prosecution for legal action against him.

A 35-year-old woman from the Philippines was found dead last Saturday. The body was burnt on the Al-Zalmi road. The skull was fractured. The police confirmed that the deceased was a native of the Philippines after checking her fingerprints. A case was also pending against the young woman who was a domestic worker for running away from her sponsor earlier.

After intensive investigation by the police, the accused was found within 24 hours. The killer was a 17-year-old boy from the home of the native where the murdered woman had worked last time. He confessed during interrogation that he raped and killed the woman. The forensic examination also revealed that the woman was raped. The samples taken from the woman’s body were confirmed to be that of the accused.

The murdered woman is married and a mother of four children. She came to Kuwait in July 2022 and was a domestic worker in a native family in Jahra. Officials of the Philippine Embassy said that their bodies will be taken home after the procedures are completed. The body will be brought to Manila, the capital of the Philippines, by Friday evening. Secretary of Migrant Workers of the Philippines Susan V. Ople visited the house of the murdered woman and expressed her condolences.

Earlier, after a Filipina domestic worker was killed in Kuwait, the Philippine government stopped sending domestic workers to Kuwait. After reaching an agreement with the Kuwaiti government regarding the protection of workers’ rights, Filipinos have recently started coming to Kuwait as domestic workers.
