The opening of a new hall of the Ojag Sports club took place in the city of Khirdalan.
As Day.Az reports, the Ojag Sport club has been operating since 2013, and since 2024, along with gymnastic disciplines, classes in other sports have been held here.
As the manager of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, Surkhay Garayev, noted in a conversation with journalists, the opening of a new hall will contribute to the development of various sports and increase their mass popularity.
“Today in the city of Khirdalan we are opening a new hall of the Ojag Sports club. Here, along with gymnastic disciplines, there will also be sections for other sports – taekwondo, chess, swimming. Ballroom and modern dancing classes will also be held here,” – he said.
A young gymnast, a student of the Ojag Sports club, Gulizar Sharifova, noted that the opening of the new gym was a real holiday.
“I do rhythmic gymnastics, and I’m glad that the Ojag Sports club hall has opened in the city of Khirdalan, where young residents of the city will be able to come and practice their favorite sports,” noted the young gymnast.
A student of the club, young athlete Leila Azagova expressed gratitude to the coaches of the Ojag Sport club for their work.
“I express my gratitude to the club’s coaches for their work, for the knowledge and skills that help us in sports. I competed in republican and international competitions and achieved good results. I wish success to the activities of the new club hall,” she said.
The event featured demonstration performances by young athletes. The program was opened by representatives of rhythmic gymnastics – athletes demonstrated their skills in working with gymnastic apparatus and artistry. Young athletes involved in taekwondo took over the baton from representatives of one of the most graceful and beautiful sports, and after them representatives of “Gymnastics for All” took to the carpet.
It should be noted that the Ojag Sport club began its activities in 2013, over the years it has come a long way, making a special contribution to the development of gymnastics in the country. For more than 10 years, the club has been developing and promoting various gymnastic disciplines, preparing highly professional athletes who subsequently become members of the Azerbaijani national team. The club’s students perform with great success at local and international competitions, win awards at prestigious tournaments organized in different countries of the world, and proudly raise the flag of their native Azerbaijan. Recently, classes in other sports have been held here.
