South Korean corporation Samsung announced the first memory chip designed to work with artificial intelligence (AI). This was reported by SamMobile with reference to the company’s materials, Day.Az reports with reference to Lenta.ru.

The LPDDR5X DRAM chip can transfer information at a record speed of 10.7 gigabits per second. This is significantly faster than the LPDDR5X chip, which is limited to 6.4 gigabits per second. According to Samsung engineers, the performance of the new device has increased by 25 percent compared to the old ones.

The presented chips are created using a 12-nanometer process technology, thanks to which it provides 30 percent more capacity. First of all, new semiconductor equipment is designed for the needs of artificial intelligence (AI), where the speed of information exchange is of great importance. The capacity of LPDDR5X DRAM is 32 gigabytes.

The new chips can be used in computers, laptops, smartphones and other devices. The equipment will be ready by the second half of 2024. “Samsung will continue to innovate and deliver products for the upcoming era of artificial intelligence on devices through close collaboration with customers,” said Samsung Executive Vice President Young Chul Bae.
