Thrissur: A student who was on holiday with her family and relatives in Orappan Kettil, Kannur, fell to her death. The deceased was identified as Darus Maria, 16, daughter of Shaiju, of Mannuthi Porathur Church. Nishad’s son Ryan (5) overcame the accident with Agali Jellipara Ettiyattu Parampil, who was injured in a fall along with Darussalam.
The accident happened at 4.30pm on Friday. The children slipped and fell while playing. Hearing the cries of those who were with him, the people in the area ran away and took the children out of the cage. He was rushed to hospital but could not be rescued.
Darus is a Plus One student of Nirmala Mata Central School, Thrissur. Ryan is the son of Dorothy’s mother’s sister. Daras’ father Shyju Mulankunnathukavu is a pharmacist at the Medical College. Mother: Greens (Palakkad District Hospital Lab Technician). Brother Denise is a Plus Two student.
