Today (Wednesday), the Department of Police Investigations will present to the District Court in Tel Aviv a serious indictment against a patrol officer from the Tel Aviv district for serious sexual offenses against a 15-year-old minor, whom he returned to the institution from which she escaped. The Department of Police Investigations referred the police officer to crimes of sodomy and attempted rape of the minor.
According to the indictment, while the defendant was driving the minor in handcuffs in a police car, as part of his duty as a patrol officer, the defendant committed sexual offenses against her without her consent, taking advantage of her being arrested and handcuffed, and under his supervision as a police officer.
The police officer was arrested early last week after an undercover investigation that was opened following a complaint from a social worker at the institution where the minor is staying, and last Thursday his detention was extended until today.
