In Brest, security forces discovered the fact of “financing extremism” by a 54-year-old city woman. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports this.
According to security forces, from April 2021 to December 2022, the woman “directed funds to citizens who were associated with illegal activities.”
“For providing such financial assistance, the woman received material compensation from representatives of a foreign state,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs claims.
The Brest prosecutor’s office has opened a criminal case against the defendant. She faces up to five years in prison.
