For this new episode of our summer series “Secret beaches”, head to Saint-Gildas-de-Rhuys, on the Rhuys peninsula in Morbihan. A corner favored by locals and regulars, far from mass tourism.

A small corner of sand, nestled between caves and tides. On the Rhuys peninsula in Morbihan, a few hundred meters from a very busy beach, is this cove, known only to regulars. Pierre Lafond grew up along this shore. This 30-something has been coming to this beach since he was a child. For fishing, but also for the beauty of the place. Like him, the few bathers who know this place feel privileged.

Colours, sounds and smells

The cove remains a secret paradise, passed down from generation to generation. Its protruding rocks and turquoise waters also make it a popular spot for divers.
