The Sri Lanka Petroleum Corporation has said that the country’s fuel reserves, which were weak in the face of the exchange and economic crisis, have now reached a strong level.

It is mentioned in this regard in the report issued by the corporation today (30).

Further in the report, “Fuel stocks have reached the strongest level since last February. Sufficient fuel reserves are available to meet the country’s basic needs.

Fuel maintenance ban

According to data from the Sri Lanka Petroleum Statutory Corporation, as of today, there are 83,236 metric tonnes of auto diesel, 9955 metric tonnes of super diesel, 20,640 metric tonnes of octane 92 petrol and 18,354 metric tonnes of octane 95 petrol in stock.

However, the process of maintaining strong fuel reserves was hampered by the need to release the entire amount of fuel purchased in the country during the crisis.

After implementation of QR system, the fuel distribution network has been properly managed as fuel is released following certain restrictions.

There is no need to continue the previous fuel purchases. Future purchases will be made through specific activities.

The QR system introduced with the fuel crisis will continue to be implemented,” it said.
