TripAdvisor reviews can sometimes ruin businesses, which is why businesses will go above and beyond to ensure that customers have a great experience – but even so, sometimes, there will be customers who will still be left with a bad taste in their mouths.
Some businesses will feel disappointed when they receive negative comments, while others will turn the negativity on its head and mock it. Such is the case inMario House, a restaurant in Barrow in Ferns, England, which was criticized by an anonymous customer. According to the review, the customer claimed that Mario House’s coffee was the “worst” she had ever drunk in her life. Instead of taking the harsh words to heart, the restaurant owners decided to use the review as a fun way to communicate with other customers, and placed an unexpected sign outside their front door, “Come taste the worst coffee anyone on Tripadvisor has ever had in their life.”
The cafe responded, “It was an ironic joke, I had customers who talked about the restaurant in an ugly way but continued to order from our restaurant.”
