The police (Carmel) told Hai Pa News Corporation: The police arrested today (Saturday 11/19/22) a suspect in a fatal hit-and-run accident that happened this week on Yaakov Dori road in Haifa during which a pedestrian was injured and died of his injuries, apparently by a vehicle that left the scene
On 11/15, Moked 100 received a report regarding an accident involving a vehicle and an 84-year-old pedestrian, a resident of the city, on Ya’akov Dori Road in Haifa.
According to medical officials, a pedestrian was evacuated from the scene in a mild-moderate condition, and later died of his injuries at Rambam Hospital in Haifa.
The traffic examiners of the Israel Police opened an investigation into the circumstances of the accident and apparently the pedestrian was hit by a vehicle that left the scene.

After strenuous investigative operations that include the use of technological means, the suspect in the hit-and-run accident, a 72-year-old resident of Dalit Al Carmel, was arrested today and brought in for questioning, and his vehicle was seized and transferred to the forensics laboratory of the Israel Police for further evidence extraction.
Tomorrow the police will ask to extend his detention at the Haifa Magistrate’s Court.
