A suspended police inspector tried to commit suicide by setting himself on fire in Thrissur

Thrissur: A police inspector under suspension tried to commit suicide at the Paliekara toll plaza. Inspector Lipi of Palakkad Meenakshipuram station attempted suicide. He tried to set himself on fire with 20 liters of petrol in his car.

The attempt to set the car on fire failed after the police and the fire brigade sprayed soapy water on the car window. The inspector was shifted to the hospital. Lipi is from Kollam. He was suspended on Thursday for disrespecting a senior citizen.
