The Epirus Branch of the Panhellenic Union of Teachers for Environmental Education offered a tree to ten Primary and Secondary Education schools in Ioannina, following the symbolic planting of the “tree of environmental education” in the lakeside area.
The second action was entitled “Green schoolyards” and its aim is to upgrade the quality of schoolyards and strengthen the school’s greenery. The school units where trees were planted are the 4th Gymnasium of Ioannina, the 3rd GEL, the 2nd Gymnasium, the 2nd GEL, the Anatolia High School, the 1st Primary School, the 9th Primary School, the 20th Primary School, the 1st Kindergarten and the 15th Kindergarten.
The action was implemented in collaboration with the Green Department of the Municipality of Ioannina. The criterion was the schoolyards, which had the greatest lack of greenery.
