The Mountaineering Association of Ioannina will hold three marches in the Arenas of Grammos, starting from Pefkophytos, on Sunday, May 12.
The first will reach the Moutsalia Lakes, at an altitude of 1,730 m. This is a category A course, lasting 6 hours, 13 kilometers long with 700 positive altitude gain. The second course will continue to Kato Arrenes, at an altitude of 2,075 m. It is a B’ category course, lasting 7 hours, 18 kilometers long with 1,100 positive altitude gain. The leader of both marches will be Giannis Demoliatis. The third course will reach Ano Arrenes, at an altitude of 2,192 m. It is a C’ class course, lasting 8 hours, 18 kilometers long with 1,200 positive altitude gain. The leader will be Georgios Boutzas
If the weather conditions are unfavorable, the degree of difficulty is increased and the route will be re-evaluated on site. Equipment: hiking boots, pair of walking sticks, personal first aid kit, windbreaker – waterproof, sunglasses, water, hat, suitable backpack. Clothing suitable for the season and a second change of clothes.
