Two killed on the roads within hours: A truck driver was killed this afternoon (Tuesday) on Road 375 in the Jerusalem area, about an hour and a half before the death of a motorcyclist who slipped at the Yehud junction was determined. This has increased the number of victims on the roads since the beginning of the year to 325 people.
At 14:00, MDA was reported in the Jerusalem area for a truck that overturned and hit a commercial vehicle on Road 375 in the direction of the Ella Valley. Following the accident, Road 375 between Tzur Hadassah and Beit Shemesh was blocked.
A paramedic on an MDA motorcycle, Elhanan Gigi, said: “The driver of the truck was lying unconscious on the road suffering from a very severe multi-system injury. We performed medical tests on him but he was without signs of life and we had to determine his death on the spot. Another person, who was sitting in the seat next to the driver, was lightly injured and treated on the spot. “
Earlier, a motorcyclist was killed in his thirties at Yehud Junction, after apparently slipping while driving. He was taken to Sheba Hospital in Tel Hashomer during resuscitation, where he was pronounced dead.
MDA paramedic Meir Shalev said: “The motorcyclist was lying on the road, unconscious and with a severe multi-systemic injury, after slipping during the ride. We provided him with medical treatment in the field and evacuated him to the hospital while he was anesthetized and respirated in a difficult and unstable condition. “A private vehicle was also involved in the accident, and the police opened an investigation into the circumstances.

The two fatal accidents raised the number of fatalities on Israeli roads in 2021 to 325. This is twenty times more dead than the number killed on the roads all last year, the corona year.
