Bollywood’s Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan. He announced to take a break from acting in the last year of 2022. He surprised his fans by announcing a sudden break in his long acting career of 35 years.
Aamir Khan said that he is taking a break to spend time with his family. After a long time, Aamir’s ex-wife Kiran Rao gave different information. According to him, he broke down after Aamir starrer ‘Lal Singh Chadha’ failed at the box office.
In an interview to Times of India, Kiran Rao said, ‘It’s really disappointing when it doesn’t work after trying everything. This is what happened with the movie ‘Lal Singh Chadda’. And this affected Amir deeply.’
Narrating an incident, Kiran Rao told Mid-Day, “Me and Aamir were present at the inauguration of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre. We first met there after the release of ‘Lal Singh Chadha’. I saw his face. I saw how he looked at me; There was an expression of apology and pain in that face.”
“We have given big movies together. Like- ‘Three Idiots’ (2009), ‘Talaash’ (2012). But do you know it? It doesn’t matter. Later I wrote a long letter (whatsapp) to Aamir and the director. To that I say, our relationship and talent does not depend on the result of a movie.”
‘Lal Singh Chadha’ is the Hindi remake of the Hollywood movie ‘Forest Gump’. Apart from Aamir Khan, the movie also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Mona Singh, Naga Chaitanya and others. It is directed by Advaita Chandan.
Produced by Aamir-Kiran Rao, ‘Lal Singh Chadda’ released on 11 August 2022. Since then it has received negative comments from the audience and critics. Besides, a section of netizens called for a boycott of the movie before its release. As a result, the movie grossed only Rs 60 crore at the box office.
