Stendal (Saxony-Anhalt) – A yellow VW Caddy and a white Audi are badly damaged on the side of the road, while a semitrailer truck is still in the middle of the lane. It is the end of a tragic accident.
FATAL ACCIDENT ON THE STATE ROAD
A 21-year-old Audi driver came on Friday afternoon on the B 189 between Osterburg in the direction of Seehausen in a long right-hand bend on the opposite lane.
“The 41-year-old driver of the articulated lorry could no longer evade, initiated emergency braking and a head-on collision with the Audi occurred on his lane,” said a police spokesman.
After the truck crash, the Audi was thrown back into its lane, hit the front of a VW Caddy driving behind it and came to a standstill in the ditch.
The front axle of the tractor unit was blocked by the impact and the vehicle in turn hit the opposite lane, hit the driver’s side of the VW Caddy and pushed it into the ditch as well.
The young Audi driver got trapped in his car. For him any help came too late. He died at the scene of the accident. The 19-year-old caddy driver was slightly injured in the hospital.
Bundesstraße 189 was completely closed for six hours while the accident was recorded. tpa
