The official questioned the reliability of the power supply, noting that electricity was functioning during President Subianto’s visit but afterward failed shortly after his departure. “This is strange, why did this happen?” the official asked. “I asked the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources and PLN to clarify this.” Concerns were also voiced regarding the delayed deployment of tents by the national Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) despite being planned ahead of the President’s visit.

Without power, residents face increased hardship, particularly at night, and the effectiveness of medical teams and humanitarian volunteers is significantly diminished. “Please don’t play around. Immediately turn on electricity in flooded areas,” the official implored. “Without electricity, residents suffer at night, information is difficult to obtain, and the work of medical teams and humanitarian volunteers is hampered.”
