(ANSA) – GROTTAGLIE, MARCH 20 – For the aerospace sector “the Mam constitutes an important event because it not only allows us to take stock of the state of the art of technologies, of the rules, of the role that the bodies play, but also to also put in place a real demonstration of the technological capabilities of what drones can do today”.
The president of the Aerospace Technological District (Dta), Giuseppe Acierno, said this in Grottaglie on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Mediterranean aerospace matching (Mam).
This is an event, now in its second edition, linked to aerospace, scheduled until March 22nd. An event with “operations that are unique in the European panorama. There is, in fact – explains Acierno – a great concentration of demonstrations involving drones of different types, with military and civil operators. Therefore, a unique dimension in a single airspace which we control with our control room and with our engineers.”
“I believe – he added – that for the territory, first of all, the Mam is one of the tools put in place to consolidate a specialization, a vocation, and also an ambition of Puglia in this sector and in particular in this industrial segment which is that of drones very linked to the digital economy”. The Mam according to Acierno is “an opportunity also for those who approach this world imagining focusing on services and starting new business initiatives, therefore the whole theme of start-ups, also in light of the fact that the adventure of Esa Bic Brindisi, which is the first business incubator of the European Space Agency in the South, is proving to be very profitable”. “With the first public notice we had an extraordinary participation of young people who wanted to get involved with ideas, demonstrating – concluded the president of the DTA – the desire to start a business and I believe this is an important signal to grasp”.
