Kozhikode ∙ Director Hariharan says that immortal actor Jayan’s relevance and fame are increasing with time. He was inaugurating the Jayan birthday celebration and the 4th anniversary celebration of Jayan Foundation Kerala. Even after 42 years of his death, Jayan is still burning in the hearts of people as a bright star as an unfading talent.

On stage while Hariharan commemorates Jayan, artist Madanan completed the Jayan Smriti film by drawing the character from the film ‘Sharapanjaram’ directed by Hariharan that made Jayan a superstar. Chairman PV Gangadharan presided over the Jayan commemoration program organized by Jayan Foundation Kerala.

Written by Hariharan, Sarapanjaram screenplay book was published by Lipi Publication and released by Kaitapram Damodaran Namboothiri. KP Sudheera received the first copy. Along with this, 13 talents who filled the stage and stage of Kozhikode theater venues were honored. Mamukoya, Mohammad Perampra, Sundaran Kallai, Chandrasekharan Thikodi, Vijayan V. Nair, Mavoor Vijayan, Satish K. Satish, Appunni Shashi, Jayashree Panteerankav, Rangoon Rahman, KPAC Wilson and V. Priyadarshan were honoured.

Kerala Human Rights Commission Judicial Member Baijunath Kakkadath, Foundation General Secretary AN Gopakumar, PG Jayachandran, Bhanuprakash, Dr. Aravindan Vallachira, KT Kunjikannan, Purusha Kadahundi, Babu Parassery, TV Balan, A. K. Prashant, S. R. Lal and Pradeep Hoodino spoke. Jayan films ‘Sarapanjaram’ and ‘Angadi’ were also screened in collaboration with the State Film Academy.

MK Munir MLA inaugurated the movie screening. The Jayan Smriti program concluded with Jaya Geetha featuring Kozhikode Natuvelicham based on songs from Jayan movies.
