Actress Gina Carano sues Disney with support from Elon Musk

Actress Gina Carano will sue Disney and the company’s production company Lucasfilm for being fired from the series “The Mandalorian” in 2021.

The reason for her dismissal was a post on social media at the time, in which the artist compared being a republican to being a victim of the Holocaust.

“Jews were attacked in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers, but by their neighbors and even children. The Nazis made neighbors hate someone just for being Jewish. How is that different from hating someone for their political views,” he wrote in publication.

After refusing to apologize, Disney decided to fire the actress from the production of the Star Wars world series.

The lawsuit was filed in a California court and accuses Disney of unfair dismissal and discrimination, asking for compensation of at least 75 thousand dollars (more than 69 thousand euros).

Elon Musk is financing the legal action, after promising to pay for any lawsuit from people who felt discriminated against by posts they made on the old Twitter (now X).

However, the publication that led to Gina Carano’s dismissal was made on Instagram and not on the social network owned by Musk.

“The Mandalorian” stars Pedro Pascal and has three seasons. It was the first major series in the Star Wars saga on Disney+.
