Bangladesh Railways has decided to sell train tickets in advance for the Eid journey on April 10. This is the first time they will sell 7-day tickets. Accordingly, the sale of tickets for this train journey will start on March 24. 100% tickets will be sold online for the convenience of passengers. Earlier, railway authorities used to sell 5-day tickets on the occasion of Eid.

Sardar Shahadat said, before Eid, the tickets for April 3 intercity train will be sold on March 24; April 4 tickets go on sale March 25; Tickets for April 5 will go on sale on March 26; Tickets for April 6 will go on sale on March 27; Tickets for April 7 will go on sale March 28; Tickets for April 8 will go on sale on March 29 and tickets for April 9 will go on sale on March 30.

He also said that apart from this, 25 percent tickets (standing) will be available from the starting station before the start of the journey on the request of common passengers. Out of this, tickets for the eastern zone will be available from 8 am and tickets for the western zone will be available from 2 pm. Tickets will be sold on April 10, 11 and 12 depending on Eid moon sighting.

Bangladesh Railway said that advance return ticket sales will start from April 3. Advance return tickets will be sold till April 9. Tickets for April 13 will be available on April 3. In this way, tickets will be available until April 19.

Railways usually start ticketing in advance 10 days before the journey. This time too, no ticket for Eid Yatra will be sold at the counter. 100% tickets will be sold from the online platform. In this case, tickets can be collected from Bangladesh Railway website, Rail Seva App and Sahaj.com platform.

Sardar Shahadat Ali said, like last time, 100% train tickets will be sold online. This Eid, the total number of seats in the intercity train departing from Dhaka will be 33 thousand 500. On the occasion of Eid, the weekly day off of all intercity trains will be withdrawn from April 3. It is planned to use 248 locomotive passenger trains on the occasion of Eid.

He said that from April 3 till the day before Eid, inter-city Nilsagar and Chilahati Express trains will run from Dhaka Cantonment Railway Station instead of Dhaka Railway Station. The train will not stop at the two airport stations. On the day of Eid-ul-Fitr, some mail express trains will be run under special arrangements. However, no inter-city trains will operate.

He said that the international Maitri Express, Mithali Express and Bandhan Express trains will be closed from April 7 to April 17. Only Mithali Express train will run from Jalpaiguri on April 17.

It was informed in the press conference that no tickets will be issued for inter-zonal inter-city trains from Joydevpur station to Dhaka and from Dhaka station to Joydevpur before Eid, in order to facilitate the travel of ticket holders. No tickets will be issued for intercity trains from Airport Station to Dhaka and from Dhaka Station to Airport.

From the start of Eid Yatra on April 3 till the day before Eid, Dhaka-bound Ekta, Hritzan, Panchagarh, Nilsagar, Kurigram, Lalmoni, Rangpur, Chilahati and Burimari Express trains will have no break at Dhaka Airport Station.
