Jet Airways was acquired by a new company, Jalan Kalrak Consortium (JKC). Following this, Jet Airways again received the permission certificate to operate flights from the Civil Aviation Authority of India on May 20. JKC has fulfilled all the conditions laid down for revival of traffic on behalf of NCLD.

Jet Airways was founded in 1992 by businessman Naresh Goyal. Subsequently, the flight services started in 1993. After successfully providing flight services for about 27 years, the flight operations were stopped in 2019.
Renewal with new investment
Jet Airways is relaunching its journey with plans to invest a fresh Rs 1,300 crore over the next few years. As the owners have changed hands, plans have been made to reposition themselves in the market.

Jet Airways flights
Even though the airline will begin its journey with 11 aircraft transferred from Jet Airways to the new entity, it has been decided not to use these aircraft for commercial flights, according to reports. The company is in final talks with manufacturers to buy new planes.

Jet Airways has hired 250 employees in the first phase. 75 percent of them are ex-employees. Recruitment is going on for various posts including pilot, engineer, technical staff. It has also been decided to continue the airline as it is already known as Jet.

Jet Airways had a 5th share of the country’s aviation market when it ceased service 3 years ago. Flights were operated to around 65 destinations domestically and abroad. However, it has been decided to determine the services considering the setbacks caused during the corona pandemic and the additional cost of carrying out the flight operations.
