After the accident at TPP-1 in Ulan-Ude, more than 750 apartment buildings are left without hot water

In Ulan-Ude, for the second day, the liquidation of the consequences of the accident at CHPP-1, serving several urban areas, continues. As Kommersant was told at the regional headquarters, 763 apartment buildings, as well as 448 houses of the private sector connected to the city utilities, remain without hot water.

“All houses and social facilities are connected to heating, the temperature inside the premises is still below normal. Recovery work at the CHPP is being carried out according to the planned schedule around the clock. It is planned to return the standard indicators for the coolant temperature on December 25, ”the headquarters said.

The elimination of the accident is under the control of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The situation in Ulan-Ude was discussed at its annual press conference on December 23. The President promised to investigate what had happened.

The East Siberian Railway also assists the local authorities in eliminating the consequences of the accident. A diesel power plant car was relocated from the Voenny Gorodok station (Irkutsk region) to Ulan-Ude. If necessary, this car will be used to generate electricity during restoration work at CHPP-1.

The accident at CHPP-1 occurred on December 23 due to a short circuit and a fire that followed. In the region, an emergency regime was declared at the republican level, and the ICR department in the Republic of Buryatia opened a criminal case.
