Misunderstanding, administrative error related to landing authorizations? This is what seemed to be taking shape over the course of the day on Monday.
The spokesperson for the United Nations mission in Mali (Minusma), Olivier Salgado, also indicated in a tweet that these soldiers were part of“national support elements” logistics at Minusma, i.e. “national personnel deployed by troop-contributing countries, in support of their contingents”.
