Air Asia | JRT Tata’s first commercial flight in the 90s

JRT Tata is multi-talented as India’s first pilot, long-time chairman of the Tata Group, father of India’s civil aviation, and recipient of the Bharat Ratna award. Born to an Indian father and a French mother, he had served in the military but fell in love with flying in the sky at a young age. Tata Airlines was started by JRT Tata in 1932 after leaving the army on the advice of his father and becoming the CEO of Tata.

After the end of World War II, the name was changed to Air India. In particular, on October 15, 1932, a de Havilland Bus Moth was operated from Karachi via Ahmedabad to Bombay by J. RD is Tata’s inaugural flight of Tata Air Services. This paved the way for civil aviation in India. It has now completed 90 years as it has been traveling as an airline that has earned good reputation from the people since its inception.
