Airbus Helicopters has announced a partnership with the Tata Group to build a helicopter assembly center in India. This scheme is implemented to promote the Make in India programme.

The helicopters will be assembled in India at the Final Assembly Line (FAL), which will be jointly developed by the two companies. Accordingly, Airbus’ best-selling H125 helicopter is being assembled at FAL.

The helicopters assembled at the FAL to be built in India are to be used for transport applications within India. Apart from this, they are also exported to foreign countries. This is the first time that a private company is undertaking the manufacturing of helicopters in India.

Tata Advanced Systems Limited, a subsidiary of the Tata Group, is building the FAL in partnership with Airbus Helicopters. French President Macron has participated in the Republic Day celebrations of India.
