Bijnor: The political atmosphere has heated up in Nagina Lok Sabha seat of Uttar Pradesh. Samajwadi Party has fielded Manoj Kumar from this seat. After this he has come into discussion on social media. Questions are being raised on his PDA i.e. Backward Dalit Minority Politics. Actually, there was talk of Azad Samaj Party chief Chandrashekhar Azad contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Nagina Lok Sabha seat. Chandrashekhar’s name was put forward by Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Jayant Chaudhary. But, after Jayant joined the NDA camp, Chandrashekhar’s card was cut. However, Akhilesh and Chandrashekhar were seen together on many occasions in the past, but the ticket could not be confirmed. After this, Akhilesh Yadav is being cornered on PDA politics. Chandrashekhar supporters have started a campaign against Akhilesh Yadav on social media.
Akhilesh released the list
Akhilesh Yadav has released a new list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections 2023. Samajwadi Party announced the names of candidates for 6 seats on Friday. Thus, even before the announcement of Lok Sabha elections, SP has announced the names of its candidates on 35 Lok Sabha seats. Akhilesh Yadav has given ticket to Bhanu Pratap Singh Advocate from Meerut, Yashveer Singh Dhobi from Bijnor, Manoj Kumar from Nagina, Brijendra Singh from Aligarh, Jasveer Valmiki from Hathras. At the same time, former MP from Lalganj, Inspector Saroj has been made the candidate. There was talk of fielding Samajwadi Party ally Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad from Nagina seat. However, Samajwadi Party has put an end to all the discussions by fielding its candidate from here.
Manoj Kumar is a former judge
Nagina Lok Sabha seat has been carved out from Bijnor. In 2009, elections were held for the first time on this reserved seat. SP Yashveer Singh Dhobi won the first election and traveled to Parliament. Yashveer Singh lost the Lok Sabha elections 2014 to Dr. Yashwant Singh of BJP. In 2019, under the SP-BSP alliance, this seat went to BSP. Yashveer joined BJP. However, he later returned to SP. This time SP has made him its candidate from Bijnor. At the same time, Akhilesh Yadav has made former Additional District Judge and Sessions Judge Manoj Kumar a candidate from Nagina reserved seat. Manoj is originally from Chandoli.
It is claimed that Manoj Kumar took VRS in September 2023 after contributing 17 years, two months and 13 days in judicial service only at the behest of former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. During that time Manoj was posted in Bijnor only. His becoming the candidate has put an end to Chandrashekhar Azad’s chances of contesting the elections from Nagina seat with the support of SP.
BJP made Om its candidate
BJP has fielded MLA Om Kumar, who has won a hat-trick from Nahtaur assembly seat. Om Kumar has been winning since the formation of Nahtaur seat in 2012. Nahtaur assembly seat falls in Nagina Lok Sabha constituency. In the alliance of SP and Congress, this seat is in SP’s account. There was talk of candidature of Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge and BSP chief Mayawati’s nephew Akash Anand from Nagina seat. At the same time, Azad Samaj Party chief Chandrashekhar Azad had made complete preparations.
SP has dashed Chandrashekhar’s hopes. After this matter came to light, the anger of his supporters has erupted on the SP President. At the same time, SP leaders are talking about the complete implementation of PDA by showing the Dalit candidates of Bijnor and Nagina.
