Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, announced the bombing of Ashkelon with a rocket salvo.
The Al-Qassam Brigades said that it bombed Ashkelon with a missile barrage in response to the occupation’s continued targeting of civilians in the Gaza Strip.
Warning sirens were sounded in Ashkelon, the industrial zone in southern Ashkelon, Zikim, and Karmiya.
The Gaza Strip has been subjected to Israeli land, sea and air bombardment since Hamas and other Palestinian factions launched Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7. The Strip is also subjected to a siege that Russian President Vladimir Putin described as unacceptable.
The Al-Aqsa flood was met with the Israeli Operation Iron Swords, which led to the death of more than 3,500 people and the wounding of more than 13,000 people.
On the Israeli side, 1,400 people were killed, including 306 officers and soldiers, while Hamas captured more than 200 Israelis.
