Strict Traffic and Safety Measures In Place for New Year Celebrations at Alappuzha Beach
Alappuzha is gearing up for the New Year celebrations at Alappuzha beach but with stringent security and traffic restrictions in place to ensure public safety. As of 2 pm tomorrow (December 31), strict measures will be imposed to prevent any untoward incidents during the festivities.
To maintain law and order and ensure the safety of the public, more than 500 police personnel will be deployed in the city. They will be responsible for security duty and traffic arrangements under the supervision of Alappuzha District Superintendent of Police and under the leadership of Alappuzha DySP.
In addition to the police presence, shadow police officers, Special Branch personnel, and additional lifeguards will be deployed to prevent anti-social activities, necklace theft, pickpocketing, and to discourage the public from entering the sea to avoid accidents.
Strict legal action will be taken against anyone found engaging in illegal activities such as public drinking, driving under the influence of alcohol, using other intoxicants, and creating public nuisance. Drunk drivers will have their vehicles impounded, be produced before the court, and face license suspension.
For the safety of the public and smooth flow of traffic, vehicular traffic towards Alappuzha beach will be strictly restricted from 2 pm onwards. No vehicle parking will be permitted on Beach Road, with the exception of emergency traffic. Illegally parked vehicles will be removed, and the owners will face fines.
Similarly, in conjunction with the Mararikulam Beach Festival, only east-west vehicles will be allowed on the national highway from Kilithatt Junction to Mararikulam Beach. Vehicles coming from Marari Beach should take a left or right turn after reaching Mararikulam Beach Junction on Coastal Road.
These measures have been put in place to ensure that the New Year celebrations at Alappuzha beach are enjoyable and safe for everyone.
