AMD FSR 2.0 Technology Coming to Xbox

by time news

AMD is preparing to introduce its new FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 technology to Xbox platforms in the coming period, according to what was announced in the past hours during the GDC event.

AMD confirmed at the GDC event that FSR 2.0 technology “will also be fully supported on Xbox and will be available in the Xbox GDK for registered developers to use in their games.” In case you didn’t know, FSR 2.0 was revealed last week for PC, and aims to improve performance in games from By upscaling the display resolution to a higher resolution.

The technology is similar to Nvidia’s DLSS, which only works on Nvidia 20 Series and later cards, in contrast, FSR 2.0 works on any AMD or Nvidia graphics card.

Both Xbox and PlayStation consoles for the past two generations have been powered by AMD GPUs, and in theory, there’s no reason why FSR 2.0 shouldn’t run on PlayStation 5, although it’s currently unclear if AMD has entered into an agreement with Xbox To make the feature exclusive to Microsoft devices only or not.

We also don’t know if FSR 2.0 will support previous generation Xbox One platforms, but if so, it’s likely that the move will extend the lifecycle of those devices in the market for a longer time.

I always look for a good story, perfect scenario, and exciting plot in any video game, and I don’t mind playing competitive games with innovative and exciting ideas.
