So far, just over 700 Cuban doctors have arrived in our country to care for people located in rural areas.
The entities in which they have been distributed are Nayarit, Tlaxcala, Colima, Baja California Sur, Sonora, Campeche, Guerrero, Veracruz, Michoacán, Morelos, Oaxaca and Zacatecas.

Health is one of the pending issues of the current administration. From the beginning of the six-year term, it was promised that there would be a radical change, although to date it has not been fulfilled. For this reason, to combat the current personnel deficit, a contract was signed to guarantee the arrival of Cuban doctors to Mexico.
First of all it is necessary to talk about the current national panorama. According to the Ministry of Health (SSa), 200,000 health professionals are required to comply with the recommendation of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Of this number, at least 70,000 correspond to specialists.
Actions to increase the coverage of health personnel

According to the information, the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) launched two tenders. The first is to guarantee lodging and three meals a day for specialists who travel to Guerrero.

In the case of those who are already in Morelos, all the Cuban doctors were channeled to houses located a maximum of 20 minutes from the IMSS-Welfare hospitals where they work. All of the above is intended to provide comfort to the Cuban doctors. But one of the problems is that these benefits are not offered to the thousands of Mexican doctors who perform the same functions and are also located in rural areas.
