Explore Tenerife’s Natural Beauty: Anaga Hiking Route Opens Registration

Discover a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the stunning landscapes of Tenerife with the Granadilla de Abona City Council’s guided Anaga Hiking Route. Registration opens Monday, December 22, 2025, for the excursion scheduled for Saturday, January 10, 2026.

A Journey Through a Biosphere Reserve

The Granadilla de Abona City Council, through the Department of Citizen Participation, led by Adaisy Arias Pérez, is offering residents a chance to explore the Montes de Anaga Biosphere Reserve. This approximately 3.3 km circular trail will take hikers through a captivating laurel forest, a unique ecosystem shaped by the island’s trade winds. The route, described as low to medium difficulty, is expected to last around four hours due to its somewhat challenging, slippery, and rocky terrain.

“The objective is to bring our neighborhood closer to alternative leisure and free time, thereby promoting better knowledge of Canarian nature and emblematic places on the Island of Tenerife,” a senior official stated.

Registration will be accepted from 8:00 a.m. on Monday, December 22, 2025, until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.
