You all are aware of Angoori Bhabhi. Shubhangi Atre has been playing this character for a long time now. He is not only an actor but also a trained Kathak dancer. Currently she is seen in ‘Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain’. He has also choreographed many dance sequences in this show. Which has been disclosed in an interview. She told that she has been doing this work for the last 8 years. In a recent episode of ‘Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain’, for the Holi segment, Shubhangi along with her co-star Aasif Shaikh did ‘Are Ja Re Hut Natkhat’. Was seen dancing on the song. The actress says she enjoyed choreographing it. ‘The song chosen was Are Ja Re Hut Natkhat and I selected it because it is a classical song. Sandhya ji did it beautifully, playing the character of both a boy and a girl wearing a mask. Asif ji and I had to select a Radha Krishna song, so I thought nothing could be better than Navrang. So, we performed on this song.
Dances with co-actors
She adds, ‘I usually choreograph all the dance sequences of Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain! I have been doing this for the last 8 years. Being a Kathak dancer, I really enjoy dancing, so it’s fun for me. As it is a comedy show and everyone including Asif ji and Rohitashv ji are dancers, so we gel well.
Daughter is Shubhangi’s dance partner
Shubhangi is a national level Kathak artiste. “I have participated in many government cultural programs across India,” she says. For her, dance is a stress reliever and she describes her daughter as her best dance partner. ‘My dance partner is my daughter Aashi, who is now in America. We play music and dance our hearts out into the night, then enjoy hot chocolate before bed. Even though he is not here, I still try to dance alone sometimes, this way I become stress free.
