A few days before the release of Anne Etchegoyen’s latest album, the Northern singer will embark on a concert tour that will take her to both sides of the Pyrenees, taking in Navarre, Gipuzkoa and several towns in Bizkaia. He will perform the first performance in Bilbao, on Saturday, the 28th, at BEC. Then Etchegoyen will play in Arrasat, Mimiza, Sestao, Biarritz, Bidart, Saint-Server and Pamplona.
The album ‘Festa’ will be released on November 10. With this new album, the Basque singer wanted to celebrate the festive atmosphere, which is why he has collected popular songs that everyone knows and sings during celebrations in towns and cities, with friends and family. As Etchegoyen admits, “missing the festivals for two years revealed the social aspect they have, and this is very important to me”.
The album consists of eight songs, some familiar, but with new arrangements, and others new. This time too, Etchegoyen had several collaborators when recording the songs. Thus, Pier Paul Berzaitz participated in the song ‘Baratze Bat’; Erramun Martikorena singing ‘Xalbadorren Heriozean’, and he recorded ‘Eperrak’ with Niko Etxart. On the other hand, the group Alma Loca participated in the song ‘Maria Gure Ama’, which they sang in Basque and Spanish, and the French author Cali in the song ‘La estaca/Agurre Zaharra’, which they sang in Basque and Catalan. Aizkoa Abesbatza, accordionist Gérard Luc, and Gaiteros du Roi León have also accompanied him in this new project. The other songs that make up the album are ‘Festa’, ‘Hegoak’ and ‘Les fetes de Mauleon’.
the concerts
After the first concert in Bilbao, Anne Etchegoyen will perform in Arrasat on November 3rd. The next day it will be in Mimizan, and on November 24th in Sestao. He will sing in Biarritz on the 25th, and on the 1st of December in the church of Bidarte, which will be the main event to present the album, as Niko Etxart, Erramun Martikorena, Alma Loca, Aizkoa Abesbatza and Patxi Garat will also be there. Finally, on December 15th he will sing in Saint-Sever and on the 16th at the Gayarre Theater in Pamplona.
