Pashyangadi: Before the tears of a couple who died after their car caught fire, there was another accidental death in Kannur. Two women died in a collision between a car and a scooter in Pazhyangadi. MP Fathima (24), a passenger in a car, and CP, a school teacher in Kannapuram North LP, a scooter passenger. The deceased has been identified as Veena (47). Five people, including Fatima’s husband, were admitted to the hospital with injuries.

The accident was near the Pashyangadi railway flyover. A car coming from Kannur side and a scooter going to Kannur side collided. The accident happened around 4.30 pm today. The dead bodies of both the Kannur Pariaram Govt. Shifted to hospital morgue.

A fully pregnant woman and her husband were burnt to death in the car they were driving in Kannur this morning. Reesha (26) and her husband Prajith (32), natives of Kuttiatur, died. Four relatives in the car escaped with minor injuries.

The tragic accident happened around 11 am near the Kannur district hospital. The family was going to the hospital by car. The car caught fire just meters away from reaching the hospital. Risha and Prajit were in the front seat and relatives were in the back seat. Eyewitnesses said that the front seat occupants were trapped as the door was locked. Firefighters from the nearby fire force office immediately rushed to put out the fire, but Reesha and Prajit died.
