Best African Cyclist of the Year Award: Moroccans Achraf Ed-Doghmi and Adil El Arbaoui among the nominees

The choice of Moroccan cyclists, Ed-Doghmi (3rd African rider) and El Arbaoui (5th African rider), comes after an exceptional season marked by distinguished performances and crowned by the qualification of the Moroccan national team for the next Olympic Games ( Paris-2024), indicates the Royal Moroccan Cycling Federation (FRMC).

According to the same source, the list of nominees also includes the African No.1, the Eritrean Henok Mulueberhan who plays in Italy and his compatriot Biniam Girmay, 2nd in the continental ranking and winner of this prize for the last three years.

The jury, chaired by French cycling legend Bernard Hinault, five-time Tour de France winner, is made up of former African riders, African and European coaches and journalists.

Created in 2012, the prize for the best African cyclist of the year aims to reward the cyclist who has contributed, through his actions in Africa and around the world, to promoting the practice of cycling.

The name of the winner of the 2023 African Cyclist of the Year award will be announced on December 14.
