The International Federation of Football Players said on Twitter: “We are shocked by reports that footballer Amir Nasir, who campaigned for women’s rights and basic freedoms in his country, is facing the death penalty in Iran. We stand by Amir. We request that his sentence be revoked immediately.”

Who is this Amir Naseer? – Amir Nasir, who is part of the Iran national football team, is also playing in the country’s premier league. She was arrested for participating in the anti-hijab protest in Iran. In this situation, the government of Iran has sentenced Amir to death, accusing him of ‘war against God’ and citing the casualties of security forces.

Earlier, the anti-hijab protests in Iran intensified following the death of a young woman named Masha Amini. More than 300 people lost their lives in this protest that lasted for more than two months. Up to 15,000 people have been arrested. Meanwhile, 20 of those arrested in the anti-hijab protest have been sentenced to death. Two of them were hanged in public last week. So far 400 people have been sentenced up to 10 years in prison.
