On the morning of Friday, March 22, the mayor of Maroneia-Sapon, Apostolos Ioannou, visited the facilities of the “Agioi Theodoroi” care association for the mentally retarded. The mayor was given a guided tour of the premises of the Day Care Center at the Weavers’ farm, visited one of the Supported Living Shelters in Komotini, where beneficiaries from the Municipality of Maroneia-Sapo live, and finally visited the workshop of axiZO IKE (crossroads to Karydia) an aid company in the work of the association, where beneficiaries work, who are also citizens of Maroneia-Sapon.
At the same time, he was extensively informed about all the functions, purposes and objectives of the structures. Together with Apostolos Ioannou, there were workers from the Sapon Community Center with whom “Agioi Theodoroi” already has a close cooperation. Also present at the visit was the president of the Association of Persons with Disabilities PE Rodopis, Alexandros Skopianos.
