The Ministry of Environmental Protection and the Ministry of Health warn that today (Friday) there is high air pollution in the north of the country and in the northern Jordan Valley. This is due to high concentrations of respirable particles. The cause of the pollution is southeasterly winds, which cause dust to travel to our area. Also, starting tomorrow morning, high air pollution is forecast in the Negev and the Arava, and towards noon high air pollution is forecast in most parts of the country.
In this case, the reason for the high air pollution is the passage of a deep depression that will cause dust to be transported from the direction of Egypt to our region, and as a result to an increase in the concentrations of respirable particles.
In light of this, the Ministry of Environmental Protection together with the Ministry of Health recommends that sensitive populations avoid strenuous physical activity outside. For the general population it is recommended to reduce strenuous exercise outside.

The ministry, headed by Minister Tamar Zandberg, said: “The Ministry of Environmental Protection and the Ministry of Health will continue to update the public as required, in accordance with the forecast data and data measured at monitoring stations throughout the country.”
