Apple announces over 600 apps for Vision Pro

by time news

When it launches on February 2, 2024, Apple obviously doesn’t want to be alone when it comes to apps for its Vision Pro “spatial computing” glasses. Apple has accordingly announced that more than 600 apps and games from various manufacturers that are specifically tailored to the Vision Pro are now available.

In the communication for entertainment apps, Apple mentions the NBA app, which can be used to stream up to five basketball games live at the same time. Comparable apps are available for PGA Red Bull TV, MLS, ESPN, CBS, Paramount Plus, Disney Plus and other streaming providers, including Discovery Max and Imax and of course Apple TV Plus. Subscribers to Apple’s Arcade gaming service get over 250 games straight away, plus more from other manufacturers such as Lego Builder’s Journey, Synth Riders or Super Fruit Ninja, all with strong 3D content.

When it comes to productivity apps, Apple highlights Box’s Vision Pro app as an example, which allows you to collaborate immersively and handle files and content, including 3D objects. Other apps adapted for Vision Pro include the brainstorming software Mindnode, which presents users’ ideas in the form of “thought bubbles” that can be moved in space. Also represented is the Omni Group with Omnifocus and Omniplan for project planning, the data visualization app Numerics (picture) and Microsoft with the Microsoft 365 apps including Teams and Copilot support, and Zoom and Cisco with Webex also bring adapted apps for their conferencing – and collaboration apps for the Vision Pro.
