Apple is developing software to help users create apps for upcoming Mixed Reality glasses, so they can build their own augmented reality apps.

This came in a Reuters report on Friday based on 4 people who worked on the glasses. Reuters quoted a report by Bloomberg News that the American company was in talks with a group of media partners, including The Walt Disney Company, to develop virtual reality content for its head glasses.

With the new software, Apple hopes that even those people who don’t know computer programming will be able to ask the voice assistant “Siri” through the glasses to create a virtual reality application, which can then be made available through the Apple App Store for others to download.

The tool could, for example, allow users to build an app that shows virtual animals moving around a room, and on top of or around real-world objects, without having to design the animal from scratch and calculate its motion in a 3D space with obstacles.

Mixed reality is one of 3 types of extended reality technologies often associated with metaverses. A headset can allow the wearer to use a real-world object to trigger interaction in the virtual world.

Apple’s glasses are set to launch at this year’s spring event and will cost around $3,000, according to a separate report from Bloomberg News.

This price will be double the Quest Pro glasses from Meta, the owner of Facebook, as the price of virtual reality and mixed reality glasses, which were launched late last year, is $ 1,500.
