A Brazilian court fined Apple $20 million for selling iPhones without chargers.
Apple, the world’s leading electronics manufacturer, has recently been selling its iPhone mobiles without providing a charger adapter. As a result, iPhone customers have to pay for the charger adapter separately. As iPhones are priced higher than other cell phones, selling them without a charger adapter has been a lament among iPhone lovers. Apple says it can’t sell the charger with the phone to limit e-waste.
In this context, the government of Brazil recently imposed a temporary ban on the sale of all iPhones without a charger. Meanwhile, the Sao Paulo Civil Court in Brazil has fined Apple $2 million for selling the iPhone 12 model without a charger. In addition, the court has also ordered to provide chargers to all customers who bought iPhone-12 and iPhone-13 in Brazil in the last two years. This is the second time Apple has been fined for not including chargers on iPhones. This has created a huge headache for the company.
