The Illicit Assets Recovery Agency (Arai) has recently made headlines for its continued efforts to track down ill-gotten assets and suspicious bank accounts. According to Aimé Rasoloharimanana, director general of the agency, nearly four hundred individuals currently find themselves in the crosshairs of the justice system for their alleged involvement in cases of embezzlement, embezzlement of public funds and use of forgery in administrative procedures. such as public procurement.
Assets seized by Arai, mainly from high-ranking officials but also from ordinary citizens, include cars, real estate and even ships.
