And you, are you one of the 4,742,500 French people who can consider themselves rich? The Observatory of Inequalities has, in its latest report, published a grid of wealth thresholds according to households. The amounts indicated correspond to all income declared by this person, after deduction of income tax.
A French person who lives alone and without children and who receives at least 3,860 euros net monthly after taxes is rich, according to the organization’s calculations. Like 7% of the population, he earns the equivalent of three minimum wage each month. A single person living with a child must earn 5,018 euros net per month to be in the same class. A couple with a child is considered rich from 6,948 euros per month. Highest threshold revealed by the Observatory of Inequalities: 10,808 euros, for a couple with three children, one of whom is under 14 years old.
