RA Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan and WHO European Regional Office Director Hans Henry Kluge signed a two-year cooperation agreement in Yerevan.

Its goal is quality healthcare accessible to all, effective protection from health emergencies, development of healthy communities.

“This agreement puts health at the top of Armenia’s agenda and emphasizes its importance as a fundamental human right and a key development priority for a better economy, peace and security,” said Dr. Kluge.

He emphasized the importance of immunization as a public health measure, as well as the fact that it has saved millions of lives, and urged continued concerted efforts to increase vaccination against COVID-19 to protect people, health systems and healthcare workers.

RA Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan expressed his belief that thanks to deep and comprehensive cooperation, they will be able to get one step closer to the goal of making health services fair and accessible to the population.

“Within the framework of this cooperation agreement, we intend to focus our attention on the most important directions in the field, such as universal health coverage, strengthening of the primary health care link, organizing a quick response in case of emergency, and promoting a healthy lifestyle,” said Anahit Avanesyan, RA Minister of Health.
