Armenian President Armen Sarkissian resigns

Armenian President Armen Sarkissian has resigned, according to a statement published on the website of the head of state.

“I thought for a long time and decided to step down as President of the Republic after active work for about four years. This decision is not at all emotional, it follows a certain logic,” Sargsyan said.

Sargsyan was elected head of state by parliament in 2018.
