Armenians protesting against the delimitation of the border with Azerbaijan blocked the Armenia-Iran highway in the Vayots Dzor region with tractors.

As Day.Az reports with reference to the Armenian media, the blockage of the highway occurred in a section near the city of Yeghegnadzor, which is located 130 kilometers from Yerevan.

On the afternoon of April 28, it was reported that Armenian citizens blocked the Yerevan-Gyumri highway as a sign of support for protests in Tavush.

Let us recall that on April 19, 2024, the eighth meeting of the State Commission on State Border Delimitation between the Azerbaijan Republic and the Republic of Armenia and the Commission on State Border Delimitation and Border Security between the Republic of Armenia and the Azerbaijan Republic took place on the border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia.

At the initial stage of the delimitation process, the Parties preliminary agreed on the passage of individual sections of the border line directly between the settlements of Baganis (RA) – Baganys Airym (AR), Voskepar (RA) – Ashagi Askipara (AR), Kirants (RA) – Kheyrymly (AR) and Berkaber (RA) – Gyzylgadjils (AR) with the aim of bringing them into line with the legally valid inter-republican border that existed within the Soviet Union at the time of its collapse.
