The introduction of a visa-free regime between Armenia and the European Union will lead to an outflow of promising young people from the republic and will negatively affect its security and economy.

As Day.Az reports, this was stated by TASS at the Russian Foreign Ministry, commenting on the report of the “Network of Friends of Armenia” entitled “Deepening relations between the EU and Armenia: more Europe in Armenia; more Armenia in Europe,” prepared under the leadership of ex-NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen.

“The authors are trying to promise the introduction of a visa-free regime with the EU, which will lead to a significant outflow of the young and economically active population to Europe and will negatively affect the economy and security of Armenia. This can be seen in the examples of Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, and, in fact, those already included in the EU the Baltic states, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, etc., the population of which is massively flowing to more prosperous countries for low-paid jobs,” noted the Russian diplomatic department.
