Quoted on the Tottenham side, the Dutch coach should stay at Feneyoord Rotterdam.

Arne Slot, cited for the vacant Tottenham manager’s job, has pledged to stay on as Feyenoord Rotterdam coach for at least one more season, Dutch media reported on Thursday.

The Dutchman was cited as one of the main contenders to replace Antonio Conte at Spurs after leading the Rotterdam club to their 16th Dutch Eredivisie title.

Talks between him and the Feyenoord management took place this week and the 44-year-old announced he should stay at the Dutch club.

“I’ve heard a lot about the interest other clubs have in me,” Slot told Dutch daily Algemeen Dagblad (AD).

“I am grateful for this appreciation but my wish is to stay at Feyenoord and continue to build on the foundations laid over the past two seasons,” he said.

“There are no ongoing transfer talks and there haven’t been any and yesterday’s discussion was only about a possible extension,” he continued.

“I’m looking forward to the new season at Feyenoord,” he added.

Arne Slot’s decision to stay in Rotterdam has been confirmed by the club to Dutch public television NOS.

The announcement means that the search for a new coach continues at Spurs, authors of a disappointing season.

Conte left Tottenham by ‘mutual consent’ in March.

Current eighth in the Premier League, Tottenham face relegation-threatened Leeds in their final league game on Sunday.

Last week, Xabi Alonso pledged his future to Bayer Leverkusen despite his links with Tottenham. The name of former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann has been ruled out before.

Vincent Kompany, another potential candidate, signed a five-year deal with newly promoted Burnley earlier this month.
