Ravichandran Ashwin is one of the best spinners of his time. Ashwin, who has been playing Test cricket for India since 2011, is the No. 1 spinner in Test cricket.

Ashwin, who has bowled brilliantly for 10 years and holds the record for the fastest bowler to take 250, 300 and 350 wickets, has taken 413 wickets in 79 international Tests.

The first Test against New Zealand was his 80th international Test match. Ashwin, who took 3 wickets in both innings of the match and took 6 wickets in the match, became the 3rd Indian bowler to take the most wickets in Test cricket with 419 wickets.

Harbhajan Singh has taken 417 wickets in 190 Test innings. Ashwin took 419 wickets in 150 innings, overtaking Harbhajan Singh to become the second highest wicket-taker in Test cricket behind Anil Kumble (619) and Kapil Dev (434).

In this situation, he will reach 3 big milestones in the 2nd Test against New Zealand.

1. Ashwin, who has taken 44 wickets in 14 innings so far in 2021, will be the highest wicket-taker this year with 6 more wickets. If he takes more wickets this year, he will become the 4th Indian bowler to take more wickets in a year. Earlier, Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh had taken the most wickets three times in a year. Ashwin, who has been the highest wicket-taker three times in a year so far, will reach the milestone of becoming the fourth Indian bowler to achieve this feat by taking 6 more wickets.

2. If Ashwin takes 8 wickets in the 2nd Test, he will become the 2nd Indian bowler to take 300 wickets in Test cricket on home soil. Earlier, Anil Kumble was the only batsman to take 300 Test wickets on Indian soil.

3. Ashwin has taken 30 wickets each at Chennai Chepauk and Mumbai Wankhede. If he takes one wicket in the 2nd Test in Mumbai, he will become the highest wicket-taker in a single innings.
